What is Jardine used for?

Jaundice is a prescription drug used to manage Type 2 Diabetes and to mitigate the complications of heart failure and chronic heart disease. It is a tablet you can swallow.

Jardiance may be prescribed to patients for many reasons.

  • To lower the risk of hospitalization in adults
  • To lower to risk of hospitalization in adults
  • To lower the risk of serious complications

Basics of Jardine

It contains an active ingredient known as empagliflozin. It is a part of the group of drugs called sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors also known as gliflozins.

Jardine works by blocking the reabsorption of excess glucose by the kidney

A 24 week study was conducted on type 2 patients and a 10 mg dose of the therapy helped 38 percent patients lower their A1c(which is a measure of glucose control to as low as 7 percent.

In a 3 year study the Jardine prescription reduced the risk of cardiovascular death by 38 percent in type 2 Diabetes patients.

Why would you be prescribed Jardiance?

This medication is prescribed to people who have Type 2 Diabetes and face difficulty in managing blood sugar levels. It helps people in improving insulin sensitivity, reduces blood sugar and lowers A1c levels.

Jardine is an effective medicine for patients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular issues, but in certain situations it must not be given. Jardine is not for people with Type 1 Diabetes and it could lead to Diabetes ketoacidosis. People with severe kidney issues should not be prescribed this drug. It could result in specific side effects which could be burning sensation, while urinating and help remedy the side effects. It is also combined with Metformin to reduce blood sugar levels. Ask the doctor, before taking Jardine because it may have known to cause harmful effects in patients with Type 1 Diabetes.
