FJYC stands for first year junior college admission which is going on in Maharastra. The state education described turnout in Mumbai to be the lowest as compared to Nagpur, Amravati, Nashik, Aurangabad and Pune. Admissions are concluding in five zones of Maharashtra. 2.4 lakh students have applied for first year admissions of junior college in the Mumbai Metropolitan region. Students wanted to secure better seats in the next round. The number of high scores in Maharashtra has led to the shortage of seats. Increase in FJYC Seats 2020 -21

The overall intake of seats in all streams is as follows:

Arts- 1,140 seats

Science – 3,760 seats

Commerce – 4,460 seats

Online admission in FJYC is being conducted for bifocal - Vocational courses in addition to quota admissions referred to as the zero rounds for tentative spaces in admissions into FJYC.

The total number of colleges in the Metropolitan region of Mumbai has increased to 800 colleges. The board wants to guarantee each student in junior college with the eligibility of passing the 10th grade.

Eligibility Criteria for FJYC

The candidates should meet the eligibility criteria of FJYC to appear for this exam. The candidates need to have passed the tenth grade.

FJYC Admission Schedule

The student registration of FJYC will commence on 26th July, 2020 and the first part of registration commenced in August, 2020. The first merit list will come out on 30th August, 2020.

General Admission Rules and Regulations

  • When applying for FJYC, check the number of streams which are available.
  • One stream can only be selected by each student.
  • Some colleges reserve seats for high rankers in their lists.
  • Only ten colleges can be chosen by each student.
  • If you want to change the stream, you can only change in the admission rounds.
  • Your stream will be allotted to another student.

Instructions of FJYC for Non – Board Students

  • Students of non – board category need to fill the part –A of the FJYC admission process.
  • The best five scores need to be filled in the admission forms.
  • The subject group will be the deciding factor for ICSE students.
  • Students with subject with result not declared cannot apply for FJYC admission.
  • Marks out of 500 need to be calculated for international students.

FJYC Online Admission Process 2020 -21

  • The admission process will begin after the conclusion of the application process.
  • The admission rounds will commence in the month of September.
  • Students will need to select the college in the first round. If one needs to change the college can do so in second round.
  • One can only get a seat in a different college, if there are seats vacant.

Admission to only Science, Commerce and Arts has been conducted online, but for other streams, admission will not commence online; these are technical junior colleges, Home Science, HSC, In house-quota, minority quota and management quota will commence through the junior colleges.

Documents Required for FJYC Admission 2020-21

Candidates must have the following documents, if they need to apply for FJYC 2020-21

  • School leaving certificate
  • Class X marksheet ( original)
  • Caste certificate for reserved categories
  • 1 recent photograph
  • Proof of your address

FJYC Online application Process 2020

  • One needs to get the admission booklet from their respective school at a cost of 150 Rs.
  • Read the guidelines printed on the booklet on which you will get the username and password.
  • Visit the official Website of FJYC and complete part I by entering username and password printed on the booklet.
  • After part I is complete, proceed with part ii, after you receive your result of class x.
  • Confirm the option of your college and complete the application process.
  • Information about merit list, cut off list was uploaded on the online portal of SESD.
  • The category of students must be mentioned on the form.
  • The guidance centres are mentioned on the application forms; hence nay query can be resolved.
